Learn a new sugar art skill from some of the best instructors in the industry. There will be 3 class sessions on Saturday and 1 on Sunday morning.

Saturday Class Schedule

  1. Section 1 Classes: 10 am-noon
  2. Section 2 Classes: 1:30-3:30 pm
  3. Section 3 Classes: 5-8 pm

Kids Classes

Cupcakes for Kids – Saturday 11:00-11:45 – $10

  • Who doesn’t love cupcakes?  Children 6 – 12 years old will learn how to fill frost and decorate a freshly baked cupcake.  
  • Children will be taught how to use a piping bag and pastry tip, smooth icing with a spatula and how to roll and cut fondant to make cool and fun decorations.  Ideas and tips for how to use of a variety of other decorations and tools will be shared during this class. 
  • The instructor will provide all necessary tools and supplies for each student to complete the project.  Take home packaging will be provided.
  • The registration fee includes a Mini Decorating Kit for each student to take home. 
  • Class size is limited to 16 students with one lead instructor and 3 assistant instructors. Parents or guardians must be in the building during the child’s class time.

Cookies for Kids – Saturday 1:30-2:15 – $10

  • Attention all 6 – 12 year old cookie lovers! Please join us to decorate two freshly baked cookies.
  • In this class, children will be taught how to use different icings and decorations on an assortment of cookies. They will use icing spatulas, a piping bag and tip, cookie cutters, fondant tools and other gadgets to create cool and fun decorations. Recipes, ideas and tips for how to create delicious sugar cookies at home will be shared during the class.
  • The instructor will provide all necessary tools and supplies for each student to complete the project.  Take home packaging will be provided.

Class A-1 Painting on Cakes – Nanette Catigbe Sat. 10-Noon $55

Let’s Paint Cake -Great cakes are meant to be unique! Step up your game in cake decorating by learning free hand painting techniques on fondant by seasoned cake artist, Nanette Catigbe. Learn how to paint roses, buds, leaves and small flowers using edible gel, color mixing to achieve elegant palettes. Beginners can create beautiful art with simple techniques and master bakers can push the level of creativity by learning new ones. All levels are welcome because cake painting need not be complicated but fun! Students please bring a turn table.

Class A-2 Compound Borders – Derek Aimonetto Sat. 10-Noon $40

Learn the basics of piping multi-element boarders with Royal Icing. These compound borders offer dimensional elegance to any sugar art piece and can be easily adapted to the needs of your client. Students will pipe a variety of compound borders on an example board that they will take home for future reference.

Class A-3 Wafer Paper Lilies – Diane Simmons Sat. 10-Noon $50

Learn how to make these stunning wafer paper lilies. leaves and filler flowers.

Class B-1 Rustic Decorated Sugar Cookies – Cheryl Weise Sat. 1:30-3:30 $45

Go rustic in this sugar cookie decorating class. In this cookie class we will learn how to do a bark texture and embellish with an initial, succulents, and flowers all using royal icing. We will add edible moss to
complete the rustic look!

Class B-2 Barking Up a Tree – Mary Gavenda Sat. 1:30-3:30 $45

Join the class and learn how to create a realistic tree bark effect using fondant and a simple tool. A honeycomb effect will be added to your tree, using candy melts. No decorating experience needed, even non-decorators will be able to Bark up a tree in no time!

Class B-3 Modeling Choc. Flowers/Bows – Jing Palasigue – Sat. 1:30-3:30 $45

Advanced Chocolate – Use modeling chocolate to create beautiful flowers including the american rose and orchids Add a finishing touch with a modeling chocolate bow. Students please bring modeling tools, foam pad, 8″ rolling pin, rolling board, round cutter, phaleonopsis orchid cutter, small artists brush

Class C-1 Gumpaste Filler Flowers – Nicholas Lodge – Sat. 5:00-8:00PM $55

During the fun and informative 3 hour mini class Chef Nicholas will guide you through making several types of filler flowers including pulled freehand blossoms , buds and frilled blossom , using cutters and molds to achieve perfect hydrangeas , Lilly of the valley , lilac and jasmine ! All of these flowers are great for wedding and celebration cakes used on their own or with larger gum paste flowers . Everything will be provided for you to use and will be available to buy after the class .The class includes written instructions and a certificate at the end of the class . A great class not to be missed.

Class C-2 Chocolate Truffles – Suzanne Daly- Sat. 5:00-8:00 PM $45

In this class you will learn the basics of chocolate tempering. You will make fillings and use polycarbonate molds to create professional molded chocolates for any occasion.

Class C-3 Fun with Isomalt – Peggy Tucker Sat. 5:00-8:00 $55

This is a 3-hour technique class, not a project class where you will be learning how to make beautiful blown bubbles and how to shape them into fruits and vegetables. We’ll also be covering safety, flavor, coloring, storing and caring for Isomalt pieces.

Class D-1 South African Lace Wings – Mary Jo Dowling- Sun. 9:00-11:00AM $55

Learn to make these delicate looking pieces from royal icing. Get a basic overview of designing, creating and using South African Lace Wings. This classically beautiful technique will add a new dimension to your cake decorating. Students will work on 4 different patterns which can be easily transported home flat. Attaching the wings will be shown in class but not completed by students

Class D-2 Buttercream Essentials: Faultlines – Blaque Shelton Sun. 9:00-11:00AM $55

Join me in this class as we explore the different types of buttercream. You will learn how to make color, flavor and troubleshoot your frosting. Each student will learn how to secure, stack and frost your cake creating the trendy internet breaking faultline cake. Additionally we will cover some pipping techniques. I will share my tips and tricks to get easy consistent professional buttercream results. Students please bring a turn table and offset spatula.

Class D-3 Wedding Cake Contracts- Barbara Evans – Sun 9:00-11:00AM $25

Have you dabbled in wedding cakes or considered going into the business? This presentation will cover many of the different aspects of the business. Attendees will receive sample contracts and forms that I have developed over the past 35 years while running my wedding cake business. We will discuss consultations, what it takes to have a wedding cake business as a hobby, full time in your home or in a shop setting. Be with us for this enlightening discussion.
